Surg Tech III - OR

About the role

Facilitating patient care by assisting the physician during surgery in the Operating Room (OR) for multiple specialties, performing technical and some patient care duties under the direction of a Registered Nurse. Functions as a clinical specialist across numerous service specialty lines. Assumes additional responsibilities for maintaining surgical specialties as necessary and serves as a resource. Functions on a more global level and is more involved in detailed surgical endeavors related to the surgery department.

Responsibilities

• Assist the physician during surgery in the Operating Room (OR) for multiple specialties.
• Perform technical and some patient care duties under the direction of a Registered Nurse.
• Function as a clinical specialist across numerous service specialty lines.
• Assume additional responsibilities for maintaining surgical specialties and serve as a resource.
• Engage in detailed surgical endeavors related to the surgery department.

Requirements

Education

• High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required.
• Graduate of a Surgical Technology Program or LPN program required.

Work Experience

• 3 years of experience and Surgical Tech Certification required.
• In lieu of degree, 7 years of experience can be substituted for certification for a total requirement of 10 years of Surgical Tech experience.

Licenses and Certifications

• BCLS - Basic Life Support upon hire required.
• LPN - Licensed Practical Nurse - State Licensure: Current GA LPN License, if applicable, upon hire required.
• CST - Certified Surgical Technologist upon hire required.
