Surface Treatment II (Onsite) - 2nd shift

Location: Opa Locka, FL (100% onsite at 3201 NW 167th St). U.S. Person required (citizen, national, permanent resident, refugee, or asylee).

About the role

Collins Aerospace Landing Systems is seeking a Plater II on the 2nd shift at our Opa Locka, FL facility. This role involves mechanical blasting and preparation of parts for plating processes such as chrome, nickel, cadmium, nital etch, racking, sandblasting, stop-off, and degreasing.

Training will take place for 4-8 weeks on First Shift (5:45 AM - 2:15 PM, Monday – Friday).

Responsibilities

• Prepare parts by masking or stop-off for plating, shotpeening, and sandblasting
• Wax parts for plating, perform alodine, brush cad, cad strip, and passivation
• Sandblast parts for plating (chrome, nickel, cadmium, and nital etch)
• Measure component parts with thickness gauges and other measuring instruments on various process lines
• Perform flash and hard chrome operations, including racking minor components for chrome plating, bright cad, and cad of minor components
• Perform degrease operations, pre- and post-plating functions for NDT (Non-Destructive Testing), machine shop, and grind shop
• Load and unload parts in ovens, documenting time and date of each operation

Requirements

• High school diploma (or equivalent) or vocational/technical education in a related discipline
• Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience using measuring instruments: micrometers, thickness gauges, dial bores, calipers, amp meters, telescoping gauges
• Basic computer skills

Schedule

• Second Shift: 2:45 PM – 11:15 PM, Monday – Friday
• Overtime as business needs determine
