Job Summary
Help power the future of aerospace by ensuring the safe preparation, handling, and maintenance of the chemical solutions that support our world-class forging operations. As a Chemical Handler, you'll play a critical role in maintaining process quality, supporting production, and upholding the highest standards of safety and environmental compliance. This is a 2nd Shift position: Monday - Thursday, 4:00PM - 2:30AM
What You Will Do
- Prepare, mix, test, and maintain chemical process solutions by following established procedures and operating specifications to support production.
- Receive, transport, store, and inventory raw chemical materials, including operating forklifts and maintaining chemical supplies for uninterrupted operations.
- Clean, drain, and maintain chemical tanks and transfer equipment, safely handling, labeling, and storing waste materials in accordance with environmental regulations.
- Monitor chemical processes, perform basic laboratory testing, and make solution adjustments to maintain quality and process standards.
- Respond safely to chemical spills or emergencies while following OSHA, EPA, and company safety procedures, and maintain required hazardous material certifications.
- Maintain a clean, organized work area and support safe manufacturing operations by following all Environmental, Health & Safety (EH&S) requirements and wearing appropriate PPE.
Qualifications You Must Have
- A High School Diploma or GED
- +1 years of relevant experience in chemical handling, industrial or manufacturing operations, warehouse/material handling, wastewater treatment, laboratory support, military service, or completion of technical training or a Certified Manufacturing Specialist program.
Qualifications We Prefer
- Knowledge of hazardous material handling, Safety Data Sheets (SDS), and OSHA, EPA, or RCRA regulations.
- Forklift certification or experience safely operating material handling equipment.
- Experience using inventory management systems and maintaining chemical or raw material inventories.
- Strong attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, and a demonstrated commitment to safety and quality in a manufacturing environment.
