Central Washington University is recruiting a SURC Facilities Manager (Maintenance Specialist 4) to join our Student Union Operations team in Ellensburg, Washington. About the Role

This role is responsible for managing and maintaining the facilities within the Student Union, ensuring that the space is clean, safe, and conducive to student activities. The Facilities Manager will work closely with other departments to ensure the smooth operation of the Student Union and support the overall mission of the University.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and repair facilities within the Student Union, including but not limited to restrooms, common areas, and event spaces.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and guidelines.
  • Coordinate with vendors and contractors for facility maintenance and repairs.
  • Manage inventory of supplies and equipment.
  • Assist with planning and executing special events within the Student Union.
  • Collaborate with Student Union staff to improve the user experience and promote the Student Union as a hub for student activities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., Facility Management, Engineering, or Business Administration).
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in facilities management or a related field.
  • Experience with maintenance and repair of building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with a diverse group of people.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Qualifications

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Knowledge of building codes and safety standards.
  • Experience with facility management software.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical labor.

Pay

The starting salary range for this position is $60,000 - $70,000 annually, depending on qualifications and experience.

Schedule

The Facilities Manager will work a standard Monday through Friday schedule, typically 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM, with some evening and weekend hours required for special events and maintenance needs.
