About the Role

While each day brings new opportunities at SPX, your core responsibilities will span material planning, production scheduling, manufacturing support, and project coordination to ensure efficient operations and on-time delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Material Planning & Inventory Control
    • Lead material sourcing decisions for each project; this has a strong effect on monthly and quarterly revenue recognition.
    • Run Shortage report to identify purchased parts shortages.
    • Perform daily audits of purchased part availability.
    • Communicate shortage information to Materials/Purchasing to expedite missing parts per the build schedule.
    • Correct Inventory Errors in SAP based on part availability.
  • Production Planning & Scheduling
    • Review, maintain, and provide comments to Production Schedule from SAP.
    • Enter and validate production data using SAP.
    • Analyze, report, and correct production data including usage transactions, production process errors, and quantity transactions to support manufacturing efficiency.
    • Review Schedule with Supervisor/Team Lead to develop Run Order for Line.
    • Communicate with Team on issues impacting order ship dates to ensure Project Managers have accurate information to provide customers.
  • Manufacturing & Line Support
    • Work with Stores personnel to sequence carts to the line.
    • Verify CP Carts in sequence.
    • Audit JIT carts for missing parts.
    • Input Line Downs for missing/defective JIT parts.
    • Maintain Line Down Open List (Close Line Items).
    • Expedite/Coordinate with JIT department on line down priority and track completion.
    • Provide feedback to JIT department on defective parts (Part Numbers, Pictures).
  • Rework & Project Support
    • Maintain Tower Rework List/Schedule with Completion Dates to provide clear communication to team on tower status.
    • Coordinate Tower Rework with Supervisor/Team Lead.
    • Work with MRO buyer on tool orders and production needs for the assembly lines.

Requirements

  • Associates Degree or technical program completion required.
  • Previous experience working in a production environment required.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
  • Strong communication and analytical skills.
  • Computer proficiency.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree and/or related coursework.
  • Experience working with inventory control software (ERP System).
  • Experience working with production scheduling, planning, control, or expediting.
  • Strong knowledge of SAP, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
  • Knowledge of international shipments and requirements.
  • Understanding of logistics terminology.
  • Experience implementing transactional technology in processes such as bar coding.
  • Business acumen, performance measurement, change management, networking, and innovation/creativity.
  • HazMat certification.

Work Environment

  • Occasional bending and stooping.
  • Keyboarding/typing.
  • Ability to read effectively from a computer screen and/or paper copy.
  • Ability to verbally communicate.
  • Ability to lift 30 lbs.

  • On Time to Build Finish Date.
  • Assembly Downtime.
  • Schedule Accuracy.
  • Inventory Accuracy.
  • Attendance.
  • Performance of activities and tasks.
