Overview The Welding Engineer Tech Supervisor is responsible for overseeing welding operations within a custom environment, ensuring work is completed safely, accurately, and in accordance with schedules. The Welding Supervisor is accountable for maintaining high standards of quality, productivity, and compliance with applicable welding codes, procedures, and engineering drawings. This position is a machinist’s role recognized as an industry expert in CB&I Storage Solutions markets, products, clients, and customers. The role directly reports to Welding Technology management and routinely interacts with department staff and all weld lab personnel Responsibilities Strong people leader - ability to mentor and train a team of professional and technical employees to complete engineering deliverables, meeting quality and schedule expectations.Responsible for maintaining productivity standards.Ensure designs and details are safe for field erection and use, with constructability in mind.Identify differentiating expertise and develop personnel to gain/maintain that expertise.Develop innovative solutions for improving our competitiveness.Proactively embraces and promotes the company’s HSE requirements and cultureAccurately produce deliverables per applicable work instructionsReliably check and sign off Work Orders,Coordinate with other roles and functions within weld lab teamComplete calibration checks in accordance with written proceduresExecute the welding of test plates, mock-up assemblies or production samples in accordance with the requirements of the CB&I work order system.Perform NDE operations in accordance with CBI written procedures.Utilizes communication skills appropriate to the environment, resulting in effective interactions with internal and external stakeholders.Learn to accurately produce welding and NDE deliverables per applicable design code, company standards and customer drawings and specifications Qualifications Phased Array UT Level II or equivalent qualifications are highly desirableUT Level III or equivalent qualifications are desirableKnowledge of SNT-TC-1A, CP-189, ASME Section V is desirableField PAUT, TOFD, PA Austenitic UT experience is highly desirableCross-functional training such as mechanical testing and machining is desirableParticipation in proper demonstration of Safety rules and regulationsEffective verbal and written communication skills are mandatory.Reports to.
