About the Role
This position is responsible for implementing and following the sales strategy by using in-depth and advanced welding techniques. The Welding Engineer Technician demonstrates the value of Fronius products and services to new and existing customers, providing welding support to regions and customers while promoting the Fronius brand in the welding industry to increase market share. This role requires frequent travel to customer sites, installation sites, and meetings.
Responsibilities
- Support all aspects of Fronius welding technology and equipment.
- Carry out weld tests for clients or prospective clients and document results on Fronius Intranet (CRM, SharePoint).
- Record all customer-related activity in the CRM Platform.
- Organize and execute product and weld tests at customer locations prior to and during production start-up.
- Evaluate client needs to maximize products, services, upgrades, and overall solutions for their welding challenges.
- Work with existing and prospective customers, providing guidance and support of Fronius welding products.
- Understand customer needs and provide suggestions for needed spare parts and other materials.
- Provide customer support in product availability, pricing, quotes, special situations, information for bids, equipment documentation, and weld demonstrations.
- Provide email and telephone support for routine and complex welding queries/problems.
- Provide technical support for the introduction of products/systems/processes into the market.
- Program, troubleshoot, and test automated systems (such as robots and hard automation).
- Perform and support installations, commissioning, and training at client locations.
- Design and conduct trainings and events for Fronius regional teams and clients.
- Create and customize training documents for new and existing customers.
- Participate in trade fairs and provide product and technical guidance and support at regional and national events.
- Lead and support initiation of modifications/further development of Fronius products.
- Forward feedback about the technical aspects of the market, competition, and products to Technical Support International.
- Facilitate and lead feasibility studies.
- Deal with challenges and promote teamwork practices to achieve established goals and objectives effectively and positively.
- Manage executive, mid-management, and technical decision makers within a single organization.
- Promote and support the “Fronius Way” philosophy.
- All other duties as assigned by management.
Requirements
- Associate degree or bachelor’s degree required.
- Willing and authorized to travel throughout the USA and possibly overseas; must have a valid driver’s license and passport (or ability to obtain one).
- Experience in the field and/or Welding Engineering Technology.
- High interest in technology, particularly welding.
- Knowledge of Spanish and/or German is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of MS Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to work independently and/or remotely, as well as part of a team.
- High degree of problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and welding skills.
- Highly organized with the ability to work on multiple projects.
- Demonstrated ability as a team contributor.

- May be requested to lift, carry, reach above the shoulder, stoop, squat, kneel, and crouch; may be required to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted.
- Duties performed in an office environment and a field setting; occasional exposure to tripping hazards.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually low to medium.
