Support Engineer III (Robotics & Motion Systems)
What's the Job?
Plan, configure, and execute motion performance tests on actuators, robotic arms, and multi-degree-of-freedom (DOF) systems.
Operate robotic systems and test rigs using position, velocity, torque/force, and impedance/admittance control modes.
Collect, analyze, and visualize test data to evaluate system performance and identify anomalies or regressions.
Support mechanical and electrical integration, wiring, debugging, and bring-up of new robotic prototypes.
Collaborate with controls, firmware, software, and hardware engineering teams to troubleshoot issues and develop test procedures.
What's Needed?
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Robotics, or a related technical field.
- Experience testing robotic systems, actuators (servo motors, brushless DC motors, linear actuators), and closed-loop motion control systems.
- Hands-on experience with encoders, force/torque sensors, accelerometers, motion capture systems, and data acquisition (DAQ) equipment.
- Proficiency with Python, MATLAB, or similar scripting tools for data analysis, test automation, and post-processing.
- Familiarity with Linux/UNIX environments and strong troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and documentation skills.
