Support Domain Architect (SDA), AWS Enterprise Support, Strategic Industries

About the role

AWS Enterprise Support is seeking a Support Domain Architect (SDA) to join the Strategic Industries Premium Support Business Development team. You will operate at the intersection of deep technical consulting, pre-sales architecture, and delivery excellence—building customer value propositions for Unified Operations (UOps), generating pipeline through customer relationships and Technical Field Community engagement, and serving as a domain CTO to ensure delivery excellence across your specialty.

Key responsibilities include:

• Performing technical consulting with customers (architecture design, modernization, migration, optimization) to build trust and identify support solution opportunities
• Partnering with Business Development Managers to build pipeline, position deals, and provide technical expertise that unblocks customer conversations
• Serving as a domain CTO—calibrating Domain Specialist Engineers, setting quality standards for delivery artifacts, and ensuring customers realize value from solutions
• Contributing to industry and technology solution development, ideating and shipping new support offerings based on patterns observed across customer engagements
• Leveraging customer consulting relationships and Technical Field Community (TFC) engagement to identify UOps pipeline opportunities and share insights with BDMs
• Building data-driven customer value propositions using the Strategic Value Proposition Framework, quantifying UOps impact from support case data and workload analysis
• Providing on-demand technical expertise to advance deals—addressing customer objections, positioning solutions, and presenting to VP/CTO-level executives
• Defining proof-of-value success criteria and KPIs for customer engagements
• Ideating and shipping industry-specific and technology-specific support solutions integrating UOps with AWS products (IDR, CDP, AMS, DevOps Agent, Security Agent)
• Building AI-powered tools and frameworks that scale business development effectiveness across the organization
• Maintaining deep technical expertise in your domain (Security, Networking, Containers, Big Data/AI-ML, or SAP) through hands-on consulting: architecture design, migration, modernization, and optimization
• Contributing to Well-Architected Framework lenses, customer events, blog posts, and enablement programs

Requirements

• 5+ years of hands-on infrastructure, troubleshooting, systems administration, networking, DevOps, or applications development experience
• 5+ years of design/implementation/operations/consulting experience with distributed applications
• Experience in an external enterprise customer-facing role as a technical lead, with strong oral and written communication skills, presenting to both large and small audiences
• Bachelor's degree

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in a 24x7 operational services or support environment
• Experience in an internal enterprise or external customer-facing environment as a technical lead
• Experience in one or more of the following areas: software design or development, content distribution/CDN, scripting/automation, database architecture, IP networking, IT security, BigData/Hadoop/Spark, operations management, service-oriented architecture
• Knowledge of cloud-based architecture, cloud services, and experience in customer-facing roles

Pay

• USA, GA, Atlanta: $153,600.00 - $207,800.00 USD annually
• USA, NY, New York: $169,000.00 - $228,600.00 USD annually
• USA, VA, Herndon: $153,600.00 - $207,800.00 USD annually
