About the role
The role is dedicated to providing comprehensive support to foster youth and adoptive families, focusing on mental health services and therapeutic visitation.
Responsibilities
- Provide individual and family therapy sessions to foster youth and adoptive families
- Facilitate therapeutic visits between children and their birth parents or guardians
- Collaborate with social workers and other professionals to develop and implement care plans
- Conduct assessments and evaluations to inform service planning
- Maintain accurate records and documentation in compliance with HIPAA and agency policies
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in psychology, social work, counseling, or a related field
- Current license to practice as a therapist in California
- Experience working with foster youth and/or adoptive families
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Qualifications
- Master's degree in psychology, social work, counseling, or a related field preferred
- Experience in community-based mental health settings
- Knowledge of trauma-informed care principles
Skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively
- Strong organizational and time management skills
