About the role
Valiant is seeking a mission-ready Supply Technician to perform Supply Technician and Procurement duties in the Supply Section of the Training Support Center (TSC). The role involves providing logistical, property management, and storage support for TSC activities, along with Procurement planning and tracking under the Training Support System (TSS) program at the National Training Center (NTC).
Responsibilities
- Work with minimum supervision from the TASC Manager.
- Maintain a Corporate Credit card with a continual monthly limit of $50,000 purchasing power and track over 10,000 purchases through an internal automated system.
- Research products and negotiate terms with vendors, including price, margin, exclusivity, and delivery terms.
- Manage janitorial, Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), and general supply inventory, evaluating quality goods while adhering to budget and Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) for government contracting.
- Receive, track, and process purchase requests; place and track orders; create and maintain inventory and quality assurance records.
- Maintain accurate records of all purchases from beginning to end, including biweekly credit card reports with receipt documentation.
- Track all CLINs and money forecasted, spent, and charged to the government from request to final billing.
- Forecast business needs and make purchase decisions based on current supply and demand.
- Receive, store, and stock materials, supplies, tools, and spares; assess quality and escalate discrepancies to management.
- Manage Supply Property and individually signed Section Hand Receipts, including continual updates of item locations in a master listing.
- Conduct property inventory of all equipment, working with the G3 PBO to submit proper documentation for newly cataloged items.
- Compile and maintain locations of training aids equipment in storeroom, warehouse, and/or storage.
- Count, sort, or inventory incoming/outgoing items to verify accuracy of receiving/shipping and invoices.
- Research specialty items and track inventories of stock levels for unique customer requests.
- Adjust inventory records to include quantities, description, issue, location, and vendor updates.
- Perform cross-leveling tasks to support work in other sections as required to achieve mission objectives.
- Provide customer assistance and advice in a proficient and professional manner.
- Ensure adherence to company policies, practices, and safety procedures; meet quality control standards.
- Read and understand supply publications and manufacturer parts and specifications.
- Document and maintain accurate status of requisition actions through delivery of items.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 4+ years of specialized experience in the Supply and/or Material Control field.
- Formal training and/or on-the-job training in requisitioning, issue, warehousing, control, and documentation of property.
- Valid California driver's license.
- Must obtain a Common Access Card to utilize government operating systems.
- Ability to obtain a Company Purchase Card to execute company purchases.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Excel.
- Ability to handle multiple projects and display adequate time management skills.
- Experience working with the FAR and other U.S. Government regulations pertinent to property control, usage, and disposition.
- Excellent communication skills for interfacing with military and civilian customers or management personnel.
- Ability to travel within the customer location.
- Ability to work overtime as needed.
Physical Requirements
This role operates in an Office/Warehouse/Shop environment, frequently outdoors. Exposure to dust, desert pollen, extreme heat and cold associated with the desert environment at Fort Irwin is common. Must be able to work in extreme weather conditions and climb in or on military or commercial equipment.
