Job Duties
- Tracking and maintaining accurate inventory of materials, components, and lab supplies
- Entering and monitoring purchase requests for inventory replenishment
- Cooking with vendors to identify and qualify sources of materials used in 3D printing operations
- Coordinating with the procurement team to facilitate the timely acquisition and tracking of materials
- Maintaining accurate records and documentation in support of DoD procurement and supply management standards
- Identifies inventory shortfalls and supply gaps, and takes or recommends corrective action to prevent operational disruptions to the Build to Print Lab
- Resolves discrepancies between purchase orders, received materials, and inventory records
- Analyzes vendor options and material availability to recommend the most effective and compliant sourcing solutions
- Manages data quality by regularly reviewing and validating inventory and procurement entries within applicable tracking systems
- Applies established DoD supply management guidelines and organizational SOPs to address individual supply actions and procurement challenges
- Ensures compliance with organizational and regulatory standards through consistent review and validation of supply and procurement records
- Reduces risk of non-compliance by maintaining and updating desktop procedures and SOPs on a recurring basis
- Serves as the primary logistical point of contact between the SAIC and NIWC Pacific project team
- Coordinates with vendors to identify sources of supply, obtain quotes, and ensure timely delivery of materials and components
- Communicates effectively with lab personnel, program managers, and procurement staff to align supply actions with project requirements
- Interfaces with internal and external stakeholders to resolve supply discrepancies and ensure accurate, up-to-date inventory reporting
- Operates with a degree of independence in managing day-to-day inventory tracking and purchase entry functions
- Applies established procurement guidelines, organizational SOPs, and DoD supply management regulations to make informed decisions and recommend corrective actions
- Reviews and updates desktop procedures and inventory management processes to reflect current requirements and mitigate compliance risks
- Coordinates cross-functionally with lab staff, procurement personnel, and vendors to ensure smooth and efficient supply operations
- Provides clear and timely communication to program leadership regarding inventory status, procurement timelines, and potential supply risks
- Demonstrates initiative in identifying process improvement opportunities within the supply chain and procurement workflows
- Supports a culture of accountability and operational excellence within the project environment
Qualifications
- High School Degree
- U.S. Citizen
- Active Secret Clearance to start
- Proven experience in supply chain management, inventory control, and logistics operations in a structured, compliance-driven environment
- Proven ability to track, manage, and maintain accurate inventory records in a technical or laboratory environment
- Experience entering and tracking purchase requests, coordinating with procurement teams, and managing vendor relationships
- Technical proficiency with Warehouse Management Systems, inventory tracking databases, and Microsoft Office Suite (including Excel for inventory tracking and SharePoint for documentation management)
- Proven analytical ability to identify supply gaps, resolve procurement discrepancies, and recommend action based on established guidelines
- Desired skills in vendor coordination, supply chain expertise, regulatory knowledge, data quality & compliance experience, and process improvement (Lean Six Sigma Yellow/Green Belt certified)
Pay
The target salary range for this position is $40,001 - $80,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
