Selective Placement Factor
- Demonstrate the ability to: Use an automated Light Rail Carousel with warehouse applications and an ordering tracking system to facilitate order management from initial acceptance through final shipment.
Qualifications
- Selective Placement Factor: This position contains a Selective Placement Factor. A Selective Placement Factor requires: the Ability, Skills, and Knowledge, and/or other work characteristics basic to and essential for satisfactory performance of this position. Selective Placement Factors are a prerequisite to appointment or placement and represent minimum requirements for a position. Applicants who do not meet the Selective Placement Factor are ineligible for further consideration. (Note: You must address the Selective Placement Factor clearly in your resume. If you do not address the Selective Placement Factor separately; you will not receive further consideration for this position.)
- Specialized Experience: To qualify for the Supply Technician, PG-2005-5, you must meet the following requirements:
- Sorting and retrieving items from an automated light rail carousel storage system;
- Using bar code and computer technology for issuance of stock;
- Metering packages in accordance with the United States Postal Service or United Parcel Service regulations using either a manual method or with the aid of electronic scales;
- Printing batch sheets from Inventory Control Module (ICM) and determining and performing what action is necessary if the order cannot be completed, e.g., special requests, exhausts, refunds, and returns order to the customer service section.
- Education: Substitution of education in lieu of specialized experience may be used for this grade level.

- Employment of Relatives: Section 3110 of Title 5, U.S. Code, prohibits a Federal official from appointing, promoting, or advocating the appointment or promotion of a relative in the agency where the official is serving or exercising jurisdiction. In addition, Section 2302(b)(7) of Title 5, U.S. Code, makes it a "prohibited personnel practice" for a person in authority to "appoint, employ, promote, advance, or advocate for the appointment, employment, promotion, or advancement of a relative."

- Background Investigation: For a Suitability, all selected applicants must undergo and successfully complete a background check for Suitability. This review could include fingerprints and credit checks, as well as a full field FBI background investigation and tax and bar checks for attorney applicants. The background investigation covers a period of seven to ten years depending on the nature of the position; this process may take 6 weeks or longer. The Agency may rescind the tentative offer, if the candidate is unable to pass the background investigation.
