About the role
The role involves investigating stock, record, and material discrepancies to resolve errors affecting inventory balances. Duties include conducting research into supply discrepancies, performing physical inventory counts, and processing Material Release Orders (MROs).
Responsibilities
- Conducts research into supply discrepancies by examining transaction records, catalogs, and historical data.
- Communicates with warehouse personnel to address supply discrepancies.
- Verifies item information, quantity, and condition during physical inventory counts and location surveys.
- Processes MROs, STOs, and prepares corrective adjustments to rectify discrepancies.
- Responds to Supply Discrepancy Reports (SDRs) from various sources.
- Performs filing, correspondence, and other clerical tasks.
Requirements
Specialized experience that equips you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position is required. This includes:
- One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-04 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military, or private sector.
- Assisting with inventory functions such as conducting physical counts or location surveys.
- Performing basic research of supply records to identify discrepancies and responding to supply discrepancies from various sources.
- Using automated supply systems to track and update inventory information.
Qualifications
To qualify for a Supply Technician, your resume and supporting documentation must support:
- Specialized experience as outlined above.
- Education that demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work, including:
- One year of specialized experience at the GS-04 level or equivalent under other pay systems.
- Graduate education that represents one academic year of full-time study.
- Combination of education and experience that meets the specialized experience requirement.
