Supply Technician

This position is pending contract award. The anticipated start date is October 1, 2026.

About the role

The Supply Technician performs limited but essential aspects of technical supply management work in support of aviation maintenance operations. Responsibilities include inventory management, storage and warehousing, cataloging, property accountability, and material utilization for depot level, local, and organizational supply activities. Ensures accurate tracking, handling, and documentation of aircraft parts, tools, and consumables in accordance with FSN, federal, and aviation maintenance regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Maintains accurate inventories of aircraft parts, components, tools, and consumables using approved FSN supply systems.
• Conducts cyclic counts, reconciliations, and discrepancy investigations to maintain 100% accountability.
• Monitors stock levels, shelf-life items, and reorder thresholds to prevent shortages impacting maintenance operations.
• Processes incoming and outgoing material transactions, including receipts, issues, turn-ins, and transfers.
• Stores, handles, and secures aviation maintenance material in accordance with technical manuals, safety standards, and environmental requirements.
• Ensures proper segregation of hazardous materials, controlled items, and sensitive aircraft components.
• Maintains clean, organized, and compliant storage areas to support efficient retrieval and audit readiness.
• Identifies, classifies, and catalogs parts using NSN, part number, manufacturer data, and technical publications.
• Verifies accuracy of supply documentation, maintenance records, and property accountability forms.
• Updates supply databases, logs, and tracking systems to reflect real-time material status.
• Supports property management functions including equipment tracking, condition coding, and disposition actions.
• Coordinates repairable items, turn-ins, exchanges, and depot level repair routing.
• Ensures proper utilization of government furnished property and compliance with FSN contract requirements.
• Works closely with maintenance personnel to identify material requirements, expedite critical parts, and support aircraft readiness.
• Assists in forecasting material needs based on scheduled maintenance, inspections, and operational tempo.
• Provides supply data to supervisors for planning, reporting, and compliance audits.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required.
• Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in military or government aviation supply operations supply system or equivalent role.
• Familiarity with NSN/NIIN cataloging, DoD supply processes, or aviation maintenance logistics.
• Hazardous materials handling certification or training.
• Experience supporting depot-level or organizational level aircraft maintenance.
• Ability to interpret technical manuals, part catalogs, and maintenance documentation.
• Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and multi-task.
• Proficiency with automated supply systems, databases, and Microsoft Office Tools (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Visio).
• Good communication skills.
• US citizenship is required to access the Fort Rucker site.
