Job Summary The Supply & Distribution Analyst supports the supply planning and distribution needs of the river region, with a primary focus on product sourced from the Weeks Island Mine. Responsibilities include developing and executing distribution plans, managing barge logistics, coordinating customer and stockpile shipments, maintaining carrier relationships, overseeing transportation invoicing and demurrage activities, and supporting financial reporting and month-end close processes. This role also plays an integral part in managing outbound shipments from Morton Salt's river region stockpiles. Duties And Responsibilities Distribution & Supply Planning Develop, maintain, and execute short-term and long-term supply and distribution plans for Weeks Island.Monitor inventory levels, customer demand, production forecasts, and transportation capacity to ensure continuity of supply.Maintain and update the rolling supply model and long term planning assumptions.Coordinate supply requirements for Bulk Deicing, Industrial, Chemical, and stockpile demand.Support annual budgets, forecasts, seasonal planning activities, and inventory strategies.Coordinate non-BDI demand requirements and special sourcing requests. Collaborate with Sales Rep and C&I team.Evaluate and communicate supply risks and mitigation plans during planned and unplanned production outages. Barge Operations & Order Management Works closely with the mine operations team daily to ensure barge loading activities are in alignment with eh barge supply network.Manage barge planning activities supporting Weeks Island production and distribution requirements.Order, prioritize, and track empty barges required for loading operations.Maintain relationship with barge carriersCoordinate pickup barge carrier activities and transportation execution.Process and manage barge diversions as operational priorities change.Maintain and distribute weekly barge position reports and barge status reports for stockpile handlers.Track barge movements, contractual placement dates, and transportation performance metrics.Work closely with Customer Service to coordinate customer orders and shipment execution.Track order fulfillment and communicate supply or transportation risks to customers, when needed.Process shipments, STOs, and customer orders within SAP.Lead daily morning meetings with Weeks Island’s operations team.Lead weekly meetings with ACBL team.Lead weekly meetings with Sales and Weeks Island’s team.Responsible for coordination of vessels shipped into New Orleans and associated logistics activities. New Orleans Logistics Coordination Coordinate shipments moving through New Orleans terminals and marine facilities.Create, monitor, and manage shipments supporting customer orders and stockpile replenishments.Coordinate loading priorities, vessel schedules, and transportation capacity requirements.Ensure timely communication of transportation constraints, delays, and operational changes. SAP & Systems Administration Create and maintain shipments and transportation records within SAP.Process goods receipts and shipment completions.Update and maintain freight rates in SAP/Freight Cockpit, and work in TMS.Create purchase requisitions and support procurement activities.Create Ariba requests and create PO#s for invoice payments. Financial Administration & Demurrage Management Process transportation, logistics, surveyors, stockpile, and carrier invoices in a timely manner.Maintain required approvals and workflow management within VIM Workplace.Calculate transportation and demurrage accruals for month-end reporting.Calculate stockpile demurrage chargebacks and process SARs.Support invoice reconciliation and dispute resolution activities.Provide critical transportation, inventory, and accrual information to Finance during month-end close. Logistics and Continuous Improvement Work closely with the Distribution manager to identify new terminal location on the river region.Identify cost savings opportunities with regards to barge shipments.Optimize the barge plan to ensure shipments perform to the correct terminal sequence at the lowest cost.Work closely with the mine and the suppliers to optimize the weekly/monthly schedule. Knowledge, Skills And Abilities Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Operations Management or an equivalent functional area.Minimum of 3 years of corporate or manufacturing production scheduling experience in a related industry.Strong understanding of supply chain dynamics.Strong computer/systems skills including MS Office programs. Medium to advance Excel level.Previous experience working with SAP System.Ability to learn and adapt to new systems and operations.Common sense and diplomacy, with a high level of interpersonal and customer service skills.Effective problem identification, solving and analytical skills.Knowledge of key supply chain and inventory performance metrics, turns, margin contributions, etc.Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities as well as attention to detail.Ability to make key decisions on a daily basis independently.Ability to lead cross-functionally, work in a team environment and collaborate with internal process partners.Advanced organization and time management skills with ability to manage stress, work under pressure, multi-task and meet deadlines.Excellent verbal / written communication skills and ability to make presentations to small groups.Knowledgeable, active member of the Supply Chain team.APICS or other Supply Chain / Logistics Certification preferred.
