About the role

This role is part of Blue Origin Operations, which includes Integrated Supply Chain, Test Operations, Safety, Quality, and Mission Assurance. This includes Manufacturing and Supply Chain support across all Blue Origin facilities.

Responsibilities

  • Develop strategic procurement solutions and complete day-to-day tactical purchasing functions for various spaceflight systems.
  • Drive organizational and policy change to enhance Blue Origin’s bottom-line through supply chain operations.
  • Ensure program requirements are appropriately prioritized and executed to meet the needs of Blue Origin.
  • Develop, mentor, coach, and engage the Blue Origin Supply Chain buyers and subcontracts administrators.
  • Facilitate communication of requirements and status to program and business area stakeholders.
  • Manage the team that places subcontracts/purchase orders of varying complexity in accordance with all regulatory and corporate compliance requirements.
  • Support the overall procurement organization’s strategic direction and ensure corporate strategic objectives are achieved.
  • Manage procurement activities to meet the requirements of the programs and needs of the business, including continuous improvement initiatives and identification of opportunities for enhanced efficiencies.
  • Influence, facilitate, present, communicate, and develop processes to streamline operations.
  • Ensure timely and effective completion of projects and initiatives of the supply chain department.
  • Maintain compliant and accurate files and data records.
  • Create and maintain systems and processes to streamline operations.
  • Interpret and apply company, policies, procedures, work instructions, business standards, and U.S. government regulations, including FAR, DFAR, SOX Compliance.
  • Support the overall procurement organization’s strategic direction and ensure corporate strategic objectives are achieved.
  • Manage procurement activities to meet the requirements of the programs and needs of the business, including continuous improvement initiatives and identification of opportunities for enhanced efficiencies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree with 5 years of experience, or Master's degree with 3 years of experience in Business Administration/Management, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or related industry experience.
  • Significant understanding of US Government and non-US Government / Commercial acquisitions.
  • Experienced knowledge / compliance with the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR/DFARS).
  • Experienced knowledge / compliance with Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR/DFARS).
  • Experienced supporting DCMA Contractor Purchasing System Review (CPSR) events.
  • Maintain compliant and accurate files and data records.
  • Strong analytical skills, data driven with experience in establishing and tracking program metrics.
  • Interprets and applies company, policies, procedures, work instructions, business standards and U.S. government regulations, i.e., FAR, DFAR, SOX Compliance.
  • Create and maintain systems and processes to streamline operations.
  • Ensure timely and effective completion of projects and initiatives of the supply chain department.
  • Must have top notch people and communication skills.
  • Working understanding of AS9100 standards.
  • Knowledge of Engineering Data such as specifications, I.P. and data rights.
  • Basic understanding of budgeting/expense management with a basic understanding of financial information.
  • An eagerness to identify opportunities, find solutions, execute plans, and evaluate results critically and expediently.
  • A highly analytical and critical thinker.
  • Maintains passion for solving problems from end-to-end.
  • Influencing, facilitation, presentation, communication, process development, analysis, and problem solving.

Qualifications

  • Experience with subcontracting of machine parts research and development, spec requirements, build to print and COTS commodities.
  • Significant understanding of US Government and non-US Government / Commercial acquisitions.
  • Experienced knowledge / compliance with the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR/DFARS).
  • Experienced knowledge / compliance with Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR/DFARS).
  • Experienced supporting DCMA Contractor Purchasing System Review (CPSR) events.
  • Maintain compliant and accurate files and data records.

  • Technical leadership competencies to form strategies to construct various contracting types for major procurement activities.
  • Competent in Blue Origin Supply Chain compliance standards, strategies, and initiatives, especially in regard to machine parts, requirements, and program integration.
  • Strong leadership skills, excellent oral and written skills, and solid communication skills.
  • Experience preparing and issuing Requests for Proposal, performing cost analysis in support of proposals, and have developed negotiation strategies and lead formal negotiations.
  • Experience managing the team that places subcontracts/purchase orders of varying complexity in accordance with all regulatory and corporate compliance requirements.
  • Experience in assessing proposal compliance (FAR 15.4).
  • Experience supporting DCMA Contractor Purchasing System Review (CPSR) events.
  • Experience in engaging with and influencing leadership teams.
  • Experience in identifying opportunities, finding solutions, executing plans, and evaluating results critically and expediently.

Pay

For WA applicants, the range is $129,791.00 - $181,706.70. Other site ranges may differ.
