Supply Chain/Procurement Manager
Responsibilities
- Assess current procurement and planning activities to identify inefficiencies and implement practical improvements that support stable operations.
- Increase the effectiveness of the existing enterprise system by defining stronger usage standards, improving data accuracy, and expanding workflow automation within purchasing.
- Redesign material planning practices so inventory availability better supports production needs and reduces disruption to manufacturing schedules.
- Build and maintain reporting tools and performance metrics related to inventory movement, supplier results, material variance, and purchasing effectiveness.
- Refine purchasing procedures to shorten lead times, lower the risk of shortages, and improve overall working capital performance.
- Guide the procurement team in using system data more effectively to support ordering decisions, prioritization, and supplier management.
- Document updated processes, system navigation steps, and operational guidelines to enable a smooth transition at the conclusion of the contract.
- Collaborate with cross-functional partners to align supply chain priorities with manufacturing requirements and business objectives.
Requirements
- 5-7+ years of supply chain or procurement leadership experience within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong hands-on background in material planning, purchasing operations, and supply chain process improvement.
- Experience working in an ERP platform used for mid-market manufacturing, with the ability to quickly optimize system adoption and reporting.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze operational data and convert it into actionable inventory, sourcing, and planning strategies.
- Knowledge of procurement workflows, supplier performance management, and inventory control best practices.
- Ability to work on-site in Phoenix, Arizona for the full 3-month Contract assignment and start on short notice.
- Strong documentation and communication skills with the ability to create clear procedures for ongoing team use.
