What To Expect
The Tesla Energy Supply Chain team is seeking a highly skilled, motivated, and experienced Supply Chain Manager (SCM) focused on plastics and complex assemblies to support our growing industrial, charging and residential Energy business. This organization oversees the direct material sourcing and supply chain for Tesla Energy Storage products including Powerwall, Powerpack, Super Charger and Megapack. In this role, you will own and manage the commodity strategy within your assigned space including leading supplier selection decisions, managing and developing key supplier relationships, driving commercial cost reductions and supporting new product introductions. As a Supply Chain Manager, you will build and leverage strong working relationships with cross-functional partners in engineering and work together with our suppliers to assure cost, quality and delivery targets are met to achieve maximum advantage for Tesla and our customers.
What You'll Do
- Own commodity strategy for given commodity and parts including developing and maintaining relationships with strategic partners and identifying new suppliers as needed to support Tesla’s business and technical requirements
- Own RFIs, RFPs, and RFQs in support of Tesla projects and lead supplier selection decisions
- Assess supplier capabilities and capacity to support Tesla’s current and future technical and demand requirements; ensure suppliers selected can scale and grow with Tesla
- Lead and execute supplier resourcing projects as needed
- Build and develop cost models to aid in commercial cost negotiations
- Drive commercial cost negotiations with suppliers to ensure Tesla receives best possible pricing, leverage cost models and analysis on current market conditions
- Lead and execute contract negotiations with suppliers on supply, development, licensing and service agreements as needed
What You'll Bring
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Business, Supply Chain, or Operations Management
- At least 3 years of supply chain experience in a fast paced, highly fluid environment or other evidence of exceptional ability; experience in a manufacturing organization is strongly preferred (Experience in Automotive interior and exterior plastics a plus)
- Demonstrated, applied experience developing and managing a commodity including building cost models, leading contract negotiations, completing supplier resourcing projects, and supporting New product introduction
- Superior analytical skills, strong attention to detail and the ability to use data and metrics to justify business decisions
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence cross functional stakeholders
- Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment to achieve business objectives
- Open-minded, self-starter with the ability to adapt, improvise and problem solve
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and projects with various stakeholders

Expected Compensation
$84,000 - $156,000/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits
