About the Role

The Supply Chain Coordinator acts as the direct link between the procurement department and the project execution team. The primary goal is ensuring that all materials, equipment, and services arrive on time, within budget, and according to engineering specifications.

Responsibilities

  • Material Timeline Alignment: Map supplier lead times against the master project schedule. Identify potential delivery bottlenecks before they delay construction or assembly.
  • Project-Specific Procurement: Review project blueprints and bills of materials (BOM). Issue purchase orders tailored strictly to the unique engineering requirements of that specific project.
  • Expediting & Tracking: Monitor critical path materials from production to delivery. Provide regular transit status updates to project managers and stakeholders.
  • Site Delivery Coordination: Schedule inbound freight shipments directly with the job site or staging yard. Ensure offloading equipment, like cranes or forklifts, is ready for arrival.
  • Vendor Performance Management: Evaluate supplier adherence to project deadlines, material quality, and pricing agreements. Document discrepancies for future contract negotiations.
  • Budget Tracking & Invoicing: Track project material expenditures against the approved budget. Reconcile purchase orders, receiving slips, and invoices to approve contractor payments.
  • Risk Mitigation: Develop backup sourcing strategies for high-risk or long-lead items. Resolve logistics disruptions dynamically to keep the project on schedule.

Skills & Tools

  • Methodologies: Familiarity with project management frameworks (like Agile or Waterfall) and critical path analysis.
  • Software: Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Asana, Jira) alongside standard Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems.

Qualifications & Education Requirements

  • A two- to four-year degree with a concentration in purchasing, materials management, business, computer science, engineering, or a related field, plus 2+ years of related work experience is required.
  • In lieu of a degree, a minimum of 4+ years of related work experience is required. Related work experience includes material management, warehouse, and inventory support.
