SUPPLEMENTAL ONLY-HEAD BOYS SOCCER COACH

Position Goal

To provide leadership, instruction, and direction to student-athletes in the assigned sport.

Essential Performance Responsibilities

• Develop and implement practice plans and game strategies.
• Instruct student-athletes in fundamental skills, techniques, and rules of the sport.
• Maintain proper supervision and control of student-athletes at all times.
• Ensure compliance with all school, district, state, and association rules and regulations.
• Maintain equipment and inventory.
• Communicate effectively with student-athletes, parents, staff, and administration.

Minimum Qualifications for Head Coach

• Standard high school diploma or satisfactory completion of any General Education Development (GED) Testing Program.
• Florida State Statute mandates that all high school coaches hold a valid Florida Educator Certificate. Applicants who do not hold a valid Florida Educator Certificate will be required to obtain an Athletic Coaching Certificate from the Florida Department of Education.
• Knowledge of the sport and the ability to impart this knowledge.

Minimum Qualifications for Assistant Coach

• Standard high school diploma or satisfactory completion of an approved General Educational Development (GED) Testing Program.
• Knowledge of the activity and ability to impart this knowledge to the participants.
• Computer skills as required for the position.
