POSITION GOAL
The Head Coach and Assistant Coach positions are responsible for leading and managing athletic teams at Northeast High School in Oakland Park.
ESSENTIAL PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and implement training programs for athletes.
- Manage team logistics including scheduling practices and games.
- Provide guidance and support to athletes, including academic and personal development.
- Comply with all state and federal regulations regarding athletics.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- Head Coach: Standard high school diploma or GED. Valid Florida Educator Certificate required.
- Assistant Coach: Standard high school diploma or GED. Knowledge of the activity and ability to impart this knowledge required.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- Head Coach: Additional coaching experience preferred.
- Assistant Coach: Experience working with youth or high school athletes preferred.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Positions require the ability to stand, walk, and perform physical activities related to coaching and managing athletic teams.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
- Temporary/Subs work calendar.
- Nonexempt classification.
CERTIFICATIONS
- Valid Florida Educator Certificate for the Head Coach.
COMPETENCIES
Strong leadership skills, excellent communication abilities, and the ability to manage multiple tasks are essential.
LOCATION PREFERENCES/ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Significant contacts include athletes, parents, and other school staff. The position is located at Northeast High School in Oakland Park, Florida.
