SUPPLEMENTAL ONLY- BOYS & GIRLS CROSS COUNTRY (HEAD COACH)

POSITION GOAL

The Head Coach is responsible for leading and managing the team, developing training programs, and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations.

ESSENTIAL PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop and implement training programs for athletes.
• Oversee team practices and games, ensuring adherence to rules and regulations.
• Manage team finances and resources.
• Collaborate with other coaches and staff to enhance team performance.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

• Standard high school diploma or satisfactory completion of an approved General Educational Development (GED) Testing Program.
• A Florida Educator Certificate is required for the Head Coach.
• Knowledge of the sport and ability to impart this knowledge.
• For Assistant Coaches, a knowledge of the activity and ability to impart this knowledge are required.
• Computer skills as required for the position.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

• Experience coaching at the high school level.
• Leadership experience in sports or related fields.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Ability to lift and move equipment, attend to athletes, and work in various weather conditions.

Contact with athletes, parents, other coaches, and administrative staff is essential for effective team management and player development.

CERTIFICATIONS

• Florida Educator Certificate for the Head Coach.
