SUPPLEMENTAL ONLY- BASKETBALL (ASSISTANT COACH ) (GIRLS)

Location: Miramar High School, Miramar, FL

Temporary/Sub position, open until filled.

About the Role

Head Coach and Assistant Coach positions are available. Coaches are responsible for leading athletic programs, teaching sport-specific skills, and fostering student-athlete development.

Responsibilities

• Impart knowledge of the sport to student-athletes.
• Develop and implement practice plans and game strategies.
• Ensure compliance with Florida High School Athletic Association (FHSAA) and school district policies.
• Promote sportsmanship, teamwork, and discipline among participants.

Requirements

• Standard high school diploma or satisfactory completion of an approved General Educational Development (GED) Testing Program.
• For Head Coach: Valid Florida Educator Certificate or Athletic Coaching Certificate from the Florida Department of Education (required by Florida State Statute).
• Knowledge of the sport and ability to teach it effectively.
• Computer skills as required for the position.

Preferred Qualifications

Prior coaching experience at the high school or higher level is preferred.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to demonstrate and perform sport-specific drills and activities.
• Capability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Physical stamina to stand, move, and supervise for extended periods.

Pay
