SUPPLEMENTAL ONLY- ASSISTANT SWIM
POSITION GOAL
The Head Coach and Assistant Coach positions are responsible for leading and managing athletic teams, providing instruction, and ensuring the safety and welfare of participants.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- The Head Coach must hold a valid Florida Educator Certificate or be willing to obtain an Athletic Coaching Certificate from the Florida Department of Education.
- The Assistant Coach must have a standard high school diploma or equivalent, and possess a knowledge of the activity and the ability to impart this knowledge.
- Computer skills are required for the Assistant Coach position.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
Preference is given to candidates with significant coaching experience, leadership skills, and a strong understanding of the sport.
SIGNIFICANT CONTACTS-frequency, contact, purpose
Contact with participants, parents, other coaches, and school administrators is essential for the success of the program.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Physical requirements include the ability to lift and move equipment, attend practices and games, and work in various weather conditions.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
- Temporary/Subs work calendar.
- Nonexempt classification.
CERTIFICATIONS
Certification as an Athletic Coach from the Florida Department of Education is required for the Head Coach position.
COMPETENCIES
Effective communication, teamwork, and adaptability are key competencies for both the Head Coach and Assistant Coach roles.
