About the role
Serving as a Supervisory Accountant GS-0510-14 makes you a valuable member of the Federal Law Enforcement Training Centers (FLETC) team and mission. This position is located at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Centers (FLETC), Chief Financial Officer Directorate (CFO), Finance Division (FIN), in the Travel and Relocation Branch (TRB). in Glynco, Georgia.
Responsibilities
- Managing, monitoring, and solving significant problems complicated by interfaces and interrelationships between and among programs, systems, functions, policies and numerous critical issues
- Formulating policies, plans, systems, and procedures for managing and continually improving the efficiency and effectiveness of accounting and financial systems
- Planning, analyzing, and determining cost/benefit relationships; testing systems changes to ensure they do not compromise regular reporting requirements
- Planning, designing, implementing, and maintaining an accounting system that functions to meet operational and reporting needs; providing technical advice on administrative and management systems that are integrated with accounting and other financial management systems; evaluating proposals to integrate accounting systems with administrative support and functional program information systems
- Directly supervising a staff of accountants and accounting technicians

- This is a non-bargaining unit position.
- Must possess and maintain a valid state issued driver's license to conduct official government business.

- Overtime may be required.
- The position is Emergency Essential and required to sustain FLETC’s operations under all conditions to ensure FLETC Continuity of Operations for Mission Essential Functions in the event of an emergent disruption of operations locally or DHS-wide.
- New supervisors/managers must successfully complete a 1-year probationary period.
