Supervisor, Accounting

About the role

Nutrien Ag Solutions is seeking a Managerial Accountant to join our team. This position is part of the broader Nutrien organization, dedicated to providing full-acre solutions through our network of crop consultants.

Responsibilities

• Model our core value of safety by enabling a culture in which you are actively contributing to a safe work environment
• Supervise day-to-day accounting functions which includes accounting for corporately managed bank accounts, including clearings and bank account reconciliations
• Create and enter journal entries into accounting system(s)
• Prepare monthly General Ledger account reconciliations and analysis
• Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and corporate finance partners to support business objectives
• Ensure accurate, timely financial reporting in compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements
• Lead, develop, and manage accounting staff, including assigning responsibilities, delegating authority, and providing training, coaching, and performance feedback
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and overall productivity
• Prepare and submit required financial reports, ensuring completeness and adherence to deadlines
• Assist in managing integration, system reconciliations, and migration from legacy platforms

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required
• 7+ years of related work experience required, including 2 years in a managerial position
• Master’s degree in Accounting or a related field is an asset
• CPA designation preferred
• Experience with financial reporting, reconciliations, and general ledger management is preferred
• Relevant work experience in accounting or finance roles is preferred
• Experience with specialized accounting software or ERP systems is considered an asset

• Must meet minimum age requirements, as permitted by law
• Must pass a background check and substance test

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
