About the Role
This role is responsible for leading and overseeing the accuracy, quality control, and timely completion of work management processes, including the analysis, correction, reconciliation, and closure of both engineered and non-engineered work orders. The position serves as a key liaison between Operations and Finance, ensuring compliance with accounting requirements, accurate labor and material accounting, and the integrity of financial and asset-related data. The role also provides guidance and support to field personnel throughout the work order lifecycle, including project costing, asset tracking, and as-built documentation. Additionally, this position supervises and develops field asset analyst staff, driving performance, accountability, and continuous professional growth.
Responsibilities
- Directs and quality-controls the analysis, tracking, correction, and closing of tasks within work management work orders, as well as the closing of work orders in their entirety (both engineered and non-engineered).
- Interacts with Operations and Finance management to resolve labor, material, and accounting discrepancies and ensure accuracy by reviewing related performance reports.
- Directs and quality-controls the analysis, tracking, and correction of accelerated work orders in a timely manner prior to being locked down in work management systems for accurate accounting of time and material.
- Provides support to field personnel regarding the work order initiation process, including identification of capital assets being constructed or retired, establishment of project cost estimates, and support surrounding the “as-built” process.
- Directs and ensures the monthly closing and post-closing reconciliation process related to material and accounting is completed, along with fulfilling all data requests and reporting needs.
- Directs and quality-controls the analysis of aging work order reports and addresses any items preventing the closure of individual work orders.
- Provides accounting support associated with operating group work management systems and acts as a liaison between operations and finance to ensure FERC accounting rules and requirements are adhered to in all jobs.
- Directs, supervises, and develops field asset analyst employees, including conducting training, development, and counseling to ensure skill growth and prepare individuals for greater responsibilities.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned, including adhering to all Company and Department procedures and safety requirements.
- Participates in storm team duties as assigned, which may vary across the Company.
- Utilizes data to make business decisions, supports data stewardship activities, and partners with IT on underlying data needs.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 5+ years of related experience required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience as a supervisor or manager.
- Electric utility operations, accounting, or finance experience.
- Understanding of regulatory accounting practices.
Skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Suite, particularly strong Excel knowledge.
Schedule
This is a hybrid work position, following our hybrid work model with a minimum of two days working in the office and the remaining days working remotely. Reporting location and frequency may be subject to change based on job role and department needs.
