About the role

The Supervisor in Training program at MITER Brands™'s Tacoma, Washington manufacturing plant is a 12–18-month leadership development initiative aimed at preparing high-potential candidates for supervisory roles in window and door manufacturing operations.

Responsibilities

  • Gain hands-on experience in various departments including Production, Quality, Safety, Maintenance, Distribution, Materials, Continuous Improvement, and Human Resources.
  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of window and door manufacturing processes, equipment, and product quality requirements.
  • Lead and motivate production teams through coaching, mentoring, training, and team member engagement.
  • Manage daily production activities while supporting safety, quality, delivery, productivity, and cost objectives.
  • Participate in root cause analysis and problem-solving activities to improve manufacturing performance and product quality.
  • Apply Lean Manufacturing principles, 5S methodologies, TPM (Total Productive Maintenance), and continuous improvement tools to eliminate waste and increase efficiency.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support production schedules, inventory management, equipment reliability, and customer satisfaction.
  • Build communication and leadership skills through presentations, project ownership, and interaction with plant leadership.
  • Analyze manufacturing metrics and drive improvements in key performance indicators, including Safety, Quality, On-Time Delivery, Productivity, and Cost.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years of manufacturing experience; experience in window, door, glass, building products, or related manufacturing environments is preferred.
  • Ability to work flexible schedules and provide leadership support across day and swing shifts as business needs require.
  • Willingness to work various shifts, including weekends and extended shifts, upon successful completion of the training program.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic production environment.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on safety, quality, and process adherence.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and manufacturing reporting systems.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and adapt to changing business needs.

Pay

Hourly compensation range: $29.76 - $38.89 (depending on experience)

Schedule

Flexible schedules and various shifts, including weekends and extended shifts, may be required.
