About the role
The Supervisor Trainee program at MITER Brands™ is a 12–18 month leadership development initiative aimed at preparing high-potential candidates for supervisory roles within the company’s window and door manufacturing operations.
Responsibilities
- Gain hands-on experience in various departments including Production, Quality, Safety, Maintenance, Distribution, Materials, Continuous Improvement, and Human Resources.
- Develop a comprehensive understanding of window and door manufacturing processes, equipment, and product quality requirements.
- Lead and motivate production teams, engage in coaching, mentoring, training, and team member interaction.
- Manage daily production activities, support safety, quality, delivery, productivity, and cost objectives.
- Participate in root cause analysis and problem-solving activities to enhance manufacturing performance and product quality.
- Apply Lean Manufacturing principles, 5S methodologies, TPM (Total Productive Maintenance), and continuous improvement tools to reduce waste and boost efficiency.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure production schedules, inventory management, equipment reliability, and customer satisfaction.
- Build communication and leadership skills through presentations, project ownership, and interactions with plant leadership.
- Analyze manufacturing metrics and drive improvements in key performance indicators such as Safety, Quality, On-Time Delivery, Productivity, and Cost.
Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years of manufacturing experience, preferably in window, door, glass, building products, or related manufacturing environments.
- Ability to work flexible schedules and provide leadership support across day and swing shifts as needed.
- Willingness to work various shifts, including weekends and extended shifts, upon successful completion of the training program.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic production environment.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on safety, quality, and process adherence.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and manufacturing reporting systems.
- Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and adapt to changing business needs.
