SUPERVISOR SECURITY

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Affords assistance in the planning of day to day operations of the security department.
• Prepares manpower assignments (schedules) supervises and coordinates with all sections of the Huntley/Elgin complex to ensure all non-standard work times have sufficient manpower coverage.
• Completes special assignments as assigned in a timely manner.
• Conducts investigations as assigned.
• Supervises, instructs and trains subordinates in the day to day operations of the security department.
• Keeps the security manager apprised of ongoing projects.
• Ensures all personnel act in a professional manner and adhere to company rules and regulations while building a team.
• Supervises orderly shift changeovers.
• Must be familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures (surveillance, camera usage, investigations, detecting suspicious persons/incidents, etc.).
• Devises 80% of his day supervising other security guards, their post, and their day to day performance and working with other department managers.
• Responds to incidents, and resolves problems or requests.
• Works closely with all departments to provide a continuous flow of information.
• Ensures the treatment of all people and personnel is fair.
• Provides praise to denote good work when appropriate.
• Train and orientate new department members and give a review of their performance to the Security Manager.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Basic computer knowledge.
• Working knowledge of company and departmental policy and procedures.
• Ability to make decisions without direct supervision.
• Give proper direction to staff members and foster an overall Security Department Team atmosphere.
