Supervisor Security

Description

Oversees and maintains the flow and balance of work in the Security Department. Provides leadership, direction, and a working environment that promotes teamwork and customer satisfaction, and ensures that the standards of service are met for the Security department in a manner consistent with SMC's/EDM's mission, vision and values.

Responsibilities

• Provides initial incident response and interviews and investigations.
• Acts as a resource and expert in Security matters for other departments or individuals and in committees.
• Affirms staff performance and conducts annual reviews, maintains time and attendance as well as staff performance records.
• Promotes the professional development of staff through training, guidance and coaching and through ongoing observation and assessment of staff performance.
• Is an effective steward of SMC/EDM resources and keeps within financial and labor budgets and identifies opportunities for further savings as well as needed capital investments to improve operational efficiency.

Requirements

• Associate's degree, or equivalent educ/experience.
• Two years of related training and experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience preferably in healthcare security.
• Upon hire: FEMA Level 100 or higher certification.
• Driving may be necessary as part of this role.

Qualifications

• Upon hire: FEMA Level 100 or higher certification.
• Basic Security Officer Certification and Supervisory Development Certification through International Association of Healthcare Security and Safety.
• Two years of related experience and/or training desired, preferably in Healthcare Security and Safety.
