Supervisor Security

Description

Oversees and maintains the flow and balance of work in the Security Department.

Provides leadership, direction, and a working environment that promotes teamwork and customer satisfaction, and ensures that the standards of service are met for the Security department in a manner consistent with SMC's/EDM's mission, vision and values.

Responsibilities

• Initial incident response
• Interviewing and investigations
• Acts as a resource and expert in Security matters for other departments or individuals and in committees
• Affirms staff performance and conducts annual reviews
• Maintains time and attendance as well as staff performance records
• Promotes the professional development of staff through training, guidance and coaching and through ongoing observation and assessment of staff performance
• Is an effective steward of SMC/EDM resources and keeps within financial and labor budgets and identifies opportunities for further savings as well as needed capital investments to improve operational efficiency

Requirements

• Associate's degree, or equivalent educ/experience
• Or
• Equivalent or two years of related training and experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience preferably in healthcare security
• Upon hire: FEMA Level 100 or higher certification
• Upon request: Driving may be necessary as part of this role

Qualifications

• Required Qualifications: Associate's degree, or equivalent educ/experience --or-- Equivalent or two years of related training and experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience preferably in healthcare security
• Preferred Qualifications: Upon hire: Basic Security Officer Certification and Supervisory Development Certification through International Association of Healthcare Security and Safety2 years of related experience and/or training desired, preferably in Healthcare Security and Safety

Pay

The successful candidate's placement on the wage range for this position will be determined based upon relevant job experience and other applicable factors. These amounts are the base pay range; additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
