Supervisor Revenue Cycle - Professional Billing

This role reports to the Manager and exercises discretion and independent judgment to plan, supervise, and coordinate the daily operations of the Revenue Cycle department. The Revenue Cycle Supervisor develops, implements, and maintains policies, procedures, and practices, leveraging expertise to ensure department goals are met and directly supervising Lead Collectors of each functional specialty.
Position initially sits onsite full time for the first 4-5 months, and will then transition to a Hybrid schedule.
Responsibilities
- Provide supervision, direction, and expertise to Leads.
- Develop, implement, and enforce policies and procedures to ensure quality and accuracy of collection function.
- Perform annual employee performance appraisals of Leads; provide significant input on performance appraisals, hiring/selection, termination, and promotion of staff and Leads.
- In partnership with the Manager and Director of Revenue Cycle, recruit, on-board, and train new employees; actively take steps to retain qualified collectors.
- Ensure that staff and Leads keep abreast of all new changes in billing guidelines set forth by regulatory agencies and conduct monthly employee performance incentive bonus review.
- Provide technical expertise and inputs to members of the Revenue Cycle and Operations management teams to improve quality of billing operation and appeal process and assure organization's compliance to billing guidelines set forth by CMS and Medi-Cal.
- Assure compliance with all regulatory bodies, including OSHPD, CMS, etc.
- Act as an internal consultant for all issues related to practice management software or other systems used by Billing and Collections staff.
- Ensure billing accuracy, maintaining continuous compliance with billing guidelines set forth by CMS and Medi-Cal.
- Perform key management functions such as hiring, updating and refining job descriptions, training, scheduling, performance counseling, and evaluating employees.
- Perform monthly incentive review and annual performance reviews of subordinates.
Requirements
- High School Diploma.
- Minimum of 5 years revenue cycle experience.
- 3+ years in leadership capacity in a revenue cycle.
Qualifications
Preferably: Bachelor’s Degree in healthcare, business, or related field.
