Oversee repair operations in an assigned department/category, ensuring operational goals for Quality, Delivery, and Cost (QDC) are met. Foster team development, continuous improvement, and unity among department members.
Responsibilities
- Direct team members (technicians) in repair order output, timeliness, and quality.
- Effectively utilize and oversee the team in daily repair lab operations.
- Set and monitor operational and quality performance standards for the team(s).
- Ensure performance is maintained through monitoring Safety, Quality, Deliverables, Cost, and Employee affairs (SQDCE) and performance reporting.
- Provide technical support or employ required resources to resolve production difficulties and/or restrictions.
- Identify and resolve technical and process shortcomings to improve operational performance, quality, and costs.
- Aid in identifying new product capabilities by monitoring no-repair situations, outsourcing lab volumes, market trends, and new technologies.
- Work closely with engineering teams and directors to drive product capability development and operational process standards.
- Assess team skills and direct training efforts to ensure technicians are adequately trained and progressing.
- Responsible for interviewing potential new hires, administering reviews, communicating corrective actions, and managing the termination process.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Associate’s Degree with 4 years of manufacturing experience (relevant experience) or 3 years of relevant experience (ideal: surgical device/instrument repair) and 2 years of supervisory or team leader experience.
- In lieu of degree, 8 years of relevant work experience (ideal: surgical devices/instrument repairs) and 2 years of supervisory or team leader experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in a production environment.
- Manufacturing and line improvement experience.
- Leadership skills, including the ability to encourage contributions, address important issues, and act as a catalyst for change and continuous improvement.
- Ability to foster teamwork and create synergy within teams to solve problems and make decisions.
- Coaching and development skills to lead, mentor, and groom employees for advancement.
- Strong communication skills to build trust and solid working relationships.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications; Oracle experience preferred.
- Business acumen, including understanding of company financials, department cost structures, budgets, and operating costs.

Pay
Pay range for this opportunity is $70,000.00 - $83,000.00. This position is eligible for bonus participation. Minimum pay rates offered will comply with county/city minimums, if higher than the range listed. Pay rates are based on factors including local labor market costs, years of relevant experience, education, professional certifications, and foreign language fluency.
