Requirements
- BLS certification
- Accredited academic program in area of specialization (physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech pathology, or audiology)
- Current State of Indiana license in area of specialization
- Basic Life Support certification through the AHA
- Advanced life support certifications may be required based on departmental policies
- May require NBCOT certification for occupational therapy
- May require ASLHA or eligibility for certificate of clinical competence for speech pathology or audiology
- May require certificate of clinical competence in Audiology or eligibility for the certificate
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience preferred
- Some leadership experience preferred
- Knowledge of state and federal regulations preferred
Roles and Responsibilities
- Assists in planning, directing, and managing Rehabilitation Services
- Supervises Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech Pathology, or Audiology programs and staff
- Maintains efficient use of personnel, equipment, and supplies in accordance with budgetary requirements
- Distributes personnel resources appropriately and participates in performance assessments and improvements
- Acts as a resource to the department and other healthcare practitioners
- Performs tasks and duties as a therapist when necessary
