Supervisor, Production (2nd shift weekend)

About the role

This position will supervise and support our weekend production crew. Required to work weekend shift (Friday-Sunday 5am-5:30pm).

Responsibilities

• Sets up and operates automatic or semi-automatic machines and related equipment in a continuous production/processing operation
• Maintains production/machine efficiency by monitoring meters, gauges, valves, flow ratios, temperatures, pressures, and related controls and guidelines to ensure adherence to production/process specifications
• Reports any malfunctions or abnormalities and makes minor adjustments and repairs to equipment
• Performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures

Requirements

• Required education and experience: Associate's Degree and 3-5 years' experience OR Equivalent Combination of Relevant Education &/or Experience
• Critical professional related technical skills; computer skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

• Preferred education and experience: Bachelor's Degree
• Discipline/Major: Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations or Business degree preferred

Essential Functions

• Supervises production operations for assigned units or during an assigned shift
• Supervises workers that operate production machinery, assemble items, perform quality control, or package goods for shipment
• Notifies maintenance or engineering departments when equipment requires maintenance or repair
• Maintains output of assigned area(s) against established schedules or quality goals
• Captures and coordinates the flow of work through the department and ensures that department has sufficient levels of inventory to meet demand and is staffed appropriately
• Leads and directs the work of other employees and has some responsibility for personnel actions related to hiring, performance, and disciplinary actions with concurrence from the HR Directors & General Managers

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to remain in a stationary position at a desk and/or computer for extended periods of time
• Requires regular movement throughout GD-OTS facilities
• Must be able to lift up to 45 pounds
• May need to stand for long periods of time
• Work primarily in a climate-controlled environment with minimal safety/health hazard potential
• Work may require employee to work inside and outside with exposure to changing climate and/or operate machinery
• May be requested to work a different shift
• This position is Safety-Sensitive
