About the Role
The Supervisor, Production provides leadership to team leads and a team of hourly production employees, ensuring the team meets production targets safely, on time, and to established quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Provide leadership to team leaders and front‑line hourly production team members; ensure a safe work environment, define expectations, provide resources, coach/teach/train associates, ensure accountability, and provide feedback.
- Develop, implement, and audit daily standard work.
- Drive a culture of continuous improvement; conduct root cause analysis and develop/implement corrective action plans.
- Maintain production schedule, meeting both quality and productivity requirements.
- Maintain good inventory control procedures for all raw material required in the department(s).
- Partner with supply chain, quality, shipping, and other departments to ensure the team meets production targets safely, on time, and to established quality standards.
- Ensure timely response to operational issues impacting customer expectations and project cycle‑time performance.
- Be knowledgeable of company policies and engage appropriate resources (HR, Safety, etc.) when required to handle issues that arise.
- Support, communicate, implement, sustain, and consistently enforce all company policies/procedures.
- Build and sustain good morale and attitudes among all reporting associates.
- Initiate requisitions for open positions; interview and determine best candidate for position.
- Document associate skills and knowledge to create a skills matrix of employee training needs and accomplishments.
- Capture and analyze data regarding productivity; understand causes for high and low productivity through observation.
- Understand production requirements and direct resources appropriately to procure shipment items; communicate decisions with data and documentation.
- Maintain accurate timekeeping in ADP for all assigned direct reports.
- Enforce safety rules, practices and procedures to assure safety of associates, buildings, grounds and machinery.
- Other duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- Minimum 3 years experience in a leadership position (team lead, team captain, supervisor, shift lead, etc.).
- Minimum 5 years experience working in a manufacturing environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Two years’ experience with 5S, Lean/Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies.
- Proficient with MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Able to interact and work effectively with employees at all levels of the organization.
- Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
- Willingness to work extended and/or weekend hours when required.
