About the Role

The Production Supervisor will provide direct supervision to hourly employees in the manufacturing of food products; ensure the safe operations of daily activities while meeting established production schedules.

Responsibilities

  • Reports directly to the Operations Manager.
  • Performs duties of the Shift Superintendent in his/her absence.
  • Provides guidance and direction to their assigned hourly team members.
  • Supports employee relations in all aspects of interaction with employees.
  • Provides proper training for plant employees on HACCP/SSOP, GMP, equipment and plant safety requirements and job specific training.
  • Responsible for replacement employee job training, workstation assignments/rotations including back up for absent employees and overtime assignment.
  • Performs essential recordkeeping and timekeeping functions for department personnel using Paycom system.
  • Monitors employee attendance and absenteeism, holding employees accountable as necessary.
  • Manages yield and ensures timely and accurate transactions on Production Batch Orders.
  • Manages inventory.
  • Builds awareness with all employees around our customers to elevate understanding around who they are and why they matter.
  • Coordinates production startups, changeovers and sanitation.
  • Schedules and conducts shift meetings to review safety concerns and performance along with plant performance compared to expectations.
  • Assists other operations as needed and as directed.

Requirements

  • Must be 18 years or older.
  • Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, logistics, or related field highly preferred.
  • Business experience can substitute for education.
  • Minimum of 5 years supervisory and/or leadership experience.
  • Experience in a food manufacturing environment desired but not mandatory.
  • High-level leadership and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to motivate, influence and train people.
  • Able to interact with all professionals of Plant Management.
  • Excellent verbal, interpersonal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
  • Valid Driver's License required.

  • Production quantity and quality results.
  • Maintaining communication proven when it is relied upon most- during critical points in a process.
  • Results of Quality Audits.
  • Reducing of Quality Audits.
  • Reducing Customer complaints while increasing first pass quality.
  • Other Duties as assigned.
