Job Summary
Congratulations! You're applying for the Supervisor, Pick Unit position. This role involves conducting general, holiday, and vacation picks for hourly and supervisory employees in accordance with Collective Bargaining Agreements and pick procedures. You'll also maintain pick documents and accurately record pick and enter data results electronically.
Responsibilities
- Conduct general, holiday, and vacation picks for hourly and supervisory employees in accordance with Collective Bargaining Agreements and pick procedures.
- Maintain pick documents.
- Accurately record pick and enter data results electronically in the system.
- Report all unusual circumstances and take the necessary corrective action.
Requirements
- The position is open to current MTA/NYCT Yard Dispatchers, Assistant Train Dispatchers, and Train Dispatchers who have completed one year of service.
- A good operating and attendance record is required.
- To be considered, current MTA employees must have at least one year of service in their current role.
- To be eligible for interviews, you must maintain a satisfactory record in performance, attendance, and disciplinary conduct.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of NYCT Rules, Regulations, and Operating Procedures.
- Knowledge of collective bargaining agreements.
- Knowledge of MS Office (MS Word, Excel, etc.).
- Ability to read and understand work programs and job schedules.
- Ability to communicate effectively, in both verbal and written form.
- Ability to effectively communicate with employees at all levels of the organization.
- Ability to accurately record employees’ pick choices.
- Ability to learn new tools and software quickly.
- Ability to work individually and as part of a team.
- Ability to respond to employee inquiries and concerns.
- Ability to maintain effective interpersonal relationships.

Compensation
You will remain at your current rate of pay. The candidate selected for this position is expected to commit to the role for a minimum of one (1) year to support operations continuity and team effectiveness.
