Supervisor Pathology- Pathology Lab Support Svcs

About the role

Provides direct on-site analysis of the day-to-day operation including adjustment of specimen workflow, test performance, quality, compliance, and associated documentation to adhere to the applicable regulatory agencies, MetroHealth and Pathology policies and procedures to ensure efficient operation and supervision of the assigned Rapid Response/Satellite location of the Pathology Laboratories. Upholds the mission, vision, values, and customer service standards of The MetroHealth System.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a chemical, physical, biological, or clinical laboratory science or medical technology
• 5 years of laboratory bench experience as a Laboratory Technologist in the area(s) of service for which the Supervisor is responsible
• Registered Medical Technologist (MT) or Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) through the American Society of Clinical Pathology (ASCP), or equivalent registration
• Ability to perform moderate complexity testing competency assessments in accordance with CLIA –42CFR493.1413
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
• Strong computer skills
• Ability to interact effectively with a wide range of cultural, ethnic, racial, and socioeconomic backgrounds

Physical requirements

• May sit, stand, stoop, bend, and ambulate intermittently during the day
• May need to sit or stand for extended periods
• See in the normal visual range with or without correction
• Hear in the normal audio range with or without correction
• Requires some exposure to communicable diseases or body fluids
• Ability to communicate face-to-face, via phone, email, and other communications
• Ability to see computer monitor and departmental documents

Schedule

Monday–Friday, first shift, 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. with additional hours as needed.

Hours

80.00 biweekly hours.
