Supervisor Pathology
About the Role
The Pathology Supervisor is responsible for the technical oversight and daily operations of the Pathology department. This role serves as a liaison between the hospital and Pathology vendors, supervises day-to-day operations of pathology personnel, develops policies and procedures, and provides training and support for all employees as needed. The supervisor works closely with other hospital departments to ensure excellent customer service and ensures compliance with CAP, AABB, FDA, JCAHO, and other regulatory guidelines. The position may include direct supervision of students at the discretion of the area supervisor.
Schedule
Weekdays only – Monday through Friday.
Responsibilities
- Oversee technical and operational aspects of the Pathology department.
- Serve as a liaison between the hospital and Pathology vendors.
- Supervise day-to-day operations of pathology personnel.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures.
- Provide training and support to employees.
- Ensure compliance with CAP, AABB, FDA, JCAHO, and other regulatory guidelines.
- Collaborate with other hospital departments to maintain excellent customer service.
- Directly supervise students, if applicable, based on licensure or equivalent training.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree.
