Supervisor - Operations (Shipping)
Responsibilities
- Cook up and distribute employee work assignments to meet inbound and outbound service requirements.
- Drive the achievement of performance objectives related to productivity, quality, service, and safety.
- Monitor workflow, track work completion, assess error rates, and take corrective actions.
- Ensure adherence to procedures and enforce compliance with safety regulations.
- Maintain accurate records of time, attendance, and performance management.
- Promote a positive work environment and maintain employee morale.
- Propose performance management actions and develop training certification programs.
- Develop and implement performance standards for warehouse functions, including pick, pack, and ship.
- Manage returned merchandise and establish performance standards for equipment, assembly, and housekeeping.
- Anticipate and address customer needs.
Qualifications
- A high school degree or equivalent is required.
- Forklift certification is preferred.
- At least 3 years of warehouse and distribution operations experience is required.
- At least 1 year of experience leading warehouse associates is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of inventory control processes is essential.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills are necessary.
- Basic computer skills are required.
- An attention to detail is important.
- The ability to learn and use business planning systems is beneficial.
- Ability to resolve problems under stress is crucial.
- Comfortable working in a team environment is expected.
- The ability to operate hand and power tools and equipment is necessary.
About the Role
Supervise one or more departments within a warehouse operation including receiving, picking, packing, shipping, wire cutting, light assembly, and housekeeping. Report directly to a Manager or Senior Manager Operations. Focus on meeting customer requirements and contributing to the development of processes and procedures.
Schedule
Monday - Friday, 12:00pm to close (end time fluctuates due to business needs).
Pay
$70,530 - $91,688 Annually
