About the role

Supervise daily operations and supplier performance, ensuring all transportation, communication, and customer service issues and requests are resolved to meet or exceed customer expectations.

Responsibilities

  • Review all available freight for linehauls and routes to maintain the lowest cost options within a private fleet.
  • Handle Load Planners and dockworkers, managing their tasks and resolving any issues they encounter.
  • Investigate and resolve internal issues impacting job performance, employee morale, and customer satisfaction, as well as those submitted by customers, suppliers, or clients.
  • Promote continuous improvement by reviewing procedures and work habits, and implementing steps to reduce costs and enhance performance through the introduction of Lean concepts.
  • Schedule daily workload based on customer input, supplier disputes, PRRs, and warning letters.
  • Maintain a safe work environment, promptly documenting and reporting any issues, concerns, or incidents to management.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in transportation or logistics.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in a related field is preferred.
  • Experience with Transportation Management Systems (TMS), particularly Oracle Transportation Management, is beneficial.
  • Strong background in process improvement initiatives.
  • Effective leadership and collaboration skills, including the ability to supervise, coach, and influence employees.
  • A willingness to work cross-functionally on multiple accounts.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of presenting clean, organized, and thorough information and data appropriate for the intended audience.

Qualifications

At least 5 years of experience in transportation or logistics. A Bachelor’s degree in a related field is preferred. Experience with TMS, particularly Oracle Transportation Management, is beneficial.
