The Imaging Department is overseen by the incumbent who performs diagnostic, therapeutic, and interventional procedures. They also participate as a member of the Imaging team.

About the Role

  • Provides imaging services to neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients and families.
  • Demonstrates ability to work with patient's physical, motor/sensory adaptation, cognitive, and psychosocial needs.
  • Operates imaging equipment and related machinery.
  • Verifies and executes physician’s orders for diagnostic, therapeutic, and interventional exams.
  • Ensures proper preparation for exams and patient safety during procedures.
  • May assist other modalities within the department or Renown Health.
  • Coordinates daily workflow of the staff and provides QC monitoring.
  • Affords staff scheduled time to maintain current competencies.
  • Schedules staff, new employees, and handles supply inventory and emergency repairs.
  • Develops and implements policy and procedure for the Imaging Department.
  • Assists in Quality Improvement process and staff developmental in-services.

Responsibilities

  • Works with radiologists and cardiologists to determine contrast media and improve image quality.
  • Manages and coordinates the imaging department on a daily basis.
  • Stays current with changes in radiology and cardiology fields.
  • Acts as a liaison between staff, managers, radiologists, cardiologists, medical staff, and administration.
  • Ensures patient safety and flow.
  • Manages potential hazards in the healthcare environment.

Requirements

  • Minimum of two years of imaging or nursing experience.
  • Preferred: Cardiac Interventional Radiography (CI) and Vascular Interventional (VI).
  • Required: A.R.R.T. (MR) or ARMRIT, A.R.R.T. (R), State of Nevada license for Medical Radiography, CCT or RCIS or RCS or RVS, RVT or RDCS, BLS certification by The American Heart Association, ACLS and PALS, Microsoft Office Suite proficiency.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree preferred but not required.
  • Current BLS certification by The American Heart Association.
  • ACLS and PALS within 6 months of hire for 200255 and 200266 only.
  • Registered Nurse license or A.R.R.T. (R) or RCIS or RCS or RVS, RDMS or RVT or RDCS, State of Nevada license for Medical Radiography.
