Imaging Supervisor
About the role
Supports leadership in performance management through the talent care process, performance reviews, and providing coaching opportunities for team member development.
Collaborates with radiologists, leadership, and other departments to facilitate timely and coordinated imaging services.
Participates in quality improvement initiatives, including image quality audits, repeat analysis, and process improvement projects.
Ensures proper equipment functionality and coordinates preventative maintenance.
Participates in scheduling, timekeeping, and supply inventory management to support operational efficiency and budget goals.
Serves as a clinical resource to technologists, students, and other staff, offering guidance on protocols, positioning, image quality, and regulatory compliance.
Maintains compliance with departmental policies, radiation safety guidelines, ALARA principles, and regulatory/accreditation standards.
Responsibilities
- Supervises departmental staff in all aspects of employee support functions.
- Performs ultrasound procedures at a technical level not requiring supervision of technical detail.
- Communicates effectively with patients, staff, and physicians using appropriate engagement behaviors.
- Participates in LEAN training.
Requirements
- Associate's degree in an accredited radiology program.
- 2+ years of experience in hospital imaging department leadership position.
- 2+ years of experience in imaging assistant director or director position.
Qualifications
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS).
- Registered Technologist - Radiography RT(R)(ARRT).
- Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS).
- Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS).
- American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists (ARMRIT).
- Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT).
- Registered Nurse (RN).
- Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI).
- Registered Vascular Tech (RVT).
- Registered Radiology Technologist - Magnetic Resonance Imaging RT(MR)(ARRT).
Skills
- Ability to appropriately supervise departmental staff in all aspects of employee support functions.
- Ability to perform ultrasound procedures at a technical level not requiring supervision of technical detail.
- Knowledge of communication styles and constant deployment of proper engagement behaviors when encountering patients, staff and physicians.
- LEAN training.
