Work Shifts
3:30pm - 12:00am (37.5 hrs/week)

Duties & Responsibilities
- Purpose of Position: Non-clinical supervision and ensuring appropriate training and orientation are provided to BHAs.
- Provides non-clinical supervision and coordinates day-to-day activities of BHAs.
- Participates in the orientation of new staff and ensures they attend appropriate training and are assigned a preceptor.
- Reviews, manages, and evaluates staff performance and collaborates with supervisors to re-assign BHAs.
- Collaborates in planning and scheduling of relevant training, including PMCS classes.
- Presents seminars on relevant issues or new techniques of managing aggression.
- Attends treatment team meetings for assistance in developing interventions.
- Serves as a liaison and resource to nurse educators and other staff.
- Tracks behavioral health codes and ensures debriefing occurs.
- Attends nursing rounds, morning administrative briefings, and other meetings.
- Supports operational scheduling.
- Participates in QA/PI activities and departmental/CMS training.
- Conducts special activities, events, and presentations.
- Performs other related duties as directed.
Minimum Qualifications
- An Associate’s degree in criminal justice, social services, or a health-related area; and two (2) years of full-time experience in law enforcement, nursing, or psychiatric/behavioral health in a high volume, intensive care environment.
- A High School diploma or a G.E.D. and three (3) years of full-time experience, as described in #1 above.
- Completion of the NYC Health + Hospitals Supervisory Training within three (3) months of appointment.
- Successful completion of an appropriate training program in the application and use of restraints and seclusion.
- Successful completion of an appropriate training in the performance of vital signs and grooming within ninety (90) calendar days of appointment to the title.
