About the role
The Maryland Transit Administration (MTA) is seeking a Supervisor, Metro Plant Maintenance. This position oversees the maintenance of Maryland Transit Administration Metro Facilities, including repair, maintenance, and cleaning tasks.
Responsibilities
- Directs and coordinates day-to-day services of a Maryland Transit Administration (MTA) maintenance division including staffing, scheduling, and procurement.
- Assigns equipment and personnel to meet all operating requirements in accordance with all established MTA rules, regulations, practices, policies, and procedures.
- Responsible for the maintenance of Maryland Transit Administration Metro Facilities, including repair, maintenance, and cleaning tasks.
- Supervises union technical and/or professional employees.
- Works variable shifts, including evenings, nights, and weekends.
Requirements
- Five (5) years of experience in the repair, maintenance, installation, inspection, testing or operation of either: electrical and HVAC systems; plumbing, mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems; fuel pumps and dispensing systems; electro-mechanical electronic systems; or escalator/elevator systems.
- Additional education at an accredited college or university may be substituted at a rate of thirty credit hours for each year of the required experience for up to three years of the experience.
- Licenses & Certifications: Class A Commercial Driver's License permit at the time of employment and Commercial Driver's License valid in the State Of Maryland, prior to the end of their probationary period.

- Education: Graduation from a standard high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.
- Licenses & Certifications: Class A Commercial Driver's License permit at the time of employment and Commercial Driver's License valid in the State Of Maryland, prior to the end of their probationary period.
- Special Requirements: Employees may be exposed to a variety of hazards such as toxic materials and fumes, asbestos, flammable or combustible agents, requiring the use of appropriate safety equipment.
