Supervisor, Medical Recruitment - Anesthesia - Remote - Nationwide
The Opportunity
Supervise the Senior Medical Recruiters, Medical Recruiters, and Junior Recruiters; Coach, Mentor, Counsel, and evaluate performance.
Conduct regular 1:1 meetings for each team member to review progress, remove obstacles, and support professional growth.
Conduct goals discussion, performance evaluations, and coaching/counseling of team personnel in partnership with the Medical Recruiting Manager.
Support the day-to-day training and onboarding of Medical Recruiters.
Partner with the Medical Recruiting Manager to develop and deliver programs for recruiter training, recognition, development, sourcing strategies, and process improvement.
Partner with the Medical Recruiting Manager in recruiting, hiring, and training of new team members as required.
Set clear expectations and hold team members accountable for meeting individual and team goals.
Partner with the Medical Recruiting Manager on day-to-day KPI management, ensuring the team meets productivity and quality targets.
Identify performance gaps early and create improvement plans in partnership with the Medical Recruiting Manager.
Monitor workload distribution across the team and reallocate assignments as needed to balance capacity.
Review and audit Medical Recruiting requisitions to monitor openings, quality, timeliness, and team productivity.
Foster a collaborative, high-performing team environment.
Recognize and celebrate individual and team achievements.
Serve as the first point of escalation for team questions, concerns, or interpersonal issues.
Provide regular reporting on team performance, trends, and pipeline health to the Medical Recruiting Manager.
Translate department goals and leadership priorities into actionable directions for the team.
Represent the team in cross-functional meetings and relay relevant updates back.
Stay current on practice and Vituity policies, procedures, and updates, and communicate relevant information to the team.
Identify inefficiencies in recruiting workflows and recommend improvements to the Medical Recruiting Manager.
Ensure consistent use of systems, tools, and processes across the team.
Contribute to the development and documentation of standard operating procedures.
Anticipate staffing needs within the team and flag capacity concerns proactively.
Partner with Specialty Directors to align recruiting efforts with practice needs.
Demonstrate leadership ability and serve as a reliable partner to the Medical Recruiting Manager.
Oversee special projects and meet timelines assigned by the Medical Recruiting Manager.
Attend all relevant meetings involved with Physician and Advanced Provider issues.
Establish ongoing relationships with residency programs and attend residency dinners as needed.
Prepare for and attend conferences to support sourcing and brand awareness.
Develop recruiting initiatives aligned with the Balanced Score Card to advance the effectiveness of the Core Recruiting function.
Work in conjunction with Business Development, Practice Management, Partnership Affairs, HR and other departments to share market intelligence (leads) and best practices in recruiting.
Provide salary and market assessments to the growth team for potential contracts and RFPs through professional network and cold calls to certain hospitals (no internet research).
Assist in the development of outreach strategies and direct contact with residency and fellowship programs across all Vituity specialties and subspecialties, as requested by the Medical Recruiting Manager or Clinical Leadership.
Provide full-cycle recruiting for assigned specialty or subspeciality positions as needed to support team workload or coverage gaps.
Generate and develop candidate leads through advertisements, cold calling, referrals, Internet sources, residency programs, and conventions.
Initiate contact and ensure timely follow-up with prospective Physicians and Advanced Provider candidates; document all actions in database.
Develop comprehensive recruiting plans for specific vacancies.
Conduct preliminary phone screens, evaluate candidates for the position and organizational add, and provide candidates with an overview of Vituity and the open positions.
Coordinate phone interviews and/or practice interviews with candidates and Medical Directors; conduct timely follow-up with all applicants.
Discuss the hiring process with new hires during the contracting phase.
Conduct verbal reference checks and facilitate written reference checks.
Maintain regular contact with new hires until their effective start date and beyond for retention purposes; conduct 30/60/90-day follow-up calls.
Maintain and update the candidate records in Taleo. Utilize the systems to obtain reports, searches and listings.
Develop strong relationships and communicate regularly with Medical Directors, Regional Directors and/or Vice Presidents, and Lead Advanced Providers and/or Regional Advanced Providers.
Maintain practice profiles with current practice information, credentialing requirements, and compensation details.
Act as a consultant to the practice to provide recommendations regarding recruiting and interviewing efforts.
Understanding of and willingness to recruit across all Vituity specialties and subspecialties when requested.
Serve as the start-up recruiter for new contracts within the specialty, including outreach to potential candidates and acquihires.
Required Experience and Competencies
- 4-5 years of recent recruiting experience required.
- Two (2) years working for a practice management company or physician recruiting firm required.
- Experience working in a recruitment agency setting strongly preferred.
- Experience working in a medical setting desired.
- Experience with Taleo is preferred.
- Proficient in MS Office Suite for Windows, Internet, and other sourcing techniques and expertise with database management.
- Able to juggle multiple priorities and make decisions in a rapidly growing, professional, service orientated environment.
- Excellent verbal, written, and in-person communication skills, including team building and negotiation skills.
- Strong organization, planning, and time management skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills and mentoring skills.

We are excited to share the base salary range for this position is $125,300 - $159,760, exclusive of fringe benefits or potential bonuses. This position is also eligible to participate in our annual corporate Success Sharing bonus program, which is based on the company’s annual performance.
