Supervisor, Mechanic Shop

About the role

Manheim (a Cox Automotive company) is seeking a Vehicle Maintenance Supervisor to oversee the mechanic shop.

Responsibilities

• Supervise a team of dedicated mechanics, ensuring quality work as they resurrect cars for remarketing.
• Provide day-to-day direction and guidance to Auto Maintenance team members and allied vendors/service providers.
• Supervise and direct the work of assigned Technicians by determining work procedures, expediting workflow, assigning duties, and examining work for accuracy and conformance to policies and procedures.
• Ensure the full range of service/repair work is performed according to company standards, applicable regulations, and customer expectations.
• Purchase equipment, materials, and supplies.
• Supervise the completion of work order forms to ensure accurate vehicle records.
• Approve and forward bills and invoices to Accounting.
• Review work volumes, plan and monitor staff levels to ensure efficiency, quality, and effective customer service.
• Ensure shop and work areas are kept clean and tidy.
• Enforce company policies and procedures related to employee and customer conduct.
• Conduct periodic spot checks of completed jobs for thoroughness and quality.
• Mentor and teach Technicians to ensure the overall growth of the team.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED and 5+ years of relevant experience in a related field (vehicle reconditioning, detailing, mechanical and/or body shop experience); or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience.
• Safe drivers needed; valid driver's license required.
• Preferred: ASE certifications in automotive repair.
